Are there any subscription fees for customers?

No, Tech Buddi is free to join with no monthly subscription fees. You only pay per job. Each project is quoted upfront by the technician based on your specific requirements.

Once you accept a quote, the payment is held securely and only released to the technician once you confirm the job has been completed to your satisfaction.


 

How does Tech Buddi verify the technicians on the platform?

Safety and transparency are our priorities. Every technician undergoes a biometric facial identity check against a valid government ID during onboarding.

While we provide the marketplace and identity verification, we encourage clients to:

  • Review technician profiles.
  • Conduct a brief introductory video call.
  • Check previous customer ratings.

Note: Your feedback is vital; leaving a review after your job helps us maintain the highest service standards.


 

How quickly will a technician respond to my request?

Technicians receive instant email notifications the moment you message them. Most of our pros respond within a few hours.

Top Tip: A technician’s initial response time is often a great indicator of their communication style and reliability for your project.


 

Does Tech Buddi offer emergency or same-day support?

Many technicians on our platform offer urgent or same-day "call-out" services. You can check a technician's availability for urgent requests directly on their profile page.


 

What happens if I am not satisfied with the work?

Your payment is protected. Funds are only released to the technician once you officially sign off on the work. If a disagreement arises, Tech Buddi provides a mediation service to help resolve the issue fairly. Your satisfaction and peace of mind are built into our payment process.


 

Can I get a VAT invoice or receipt for my records?

Yes. Upon completion of payment, our payment processor (Stripe) automatically generates and emails a receipt to you for your records.

Coming Soon: We are currently working on an integrated VAT invoicing feature to make business accounting even easier in the near future.


For Technicians 🛠️

 

How much does Tech Buddi charge technicians?

We don't charge any subscription fees. We take a small flat percentage of 10% for each completed job to keep the platform running.


 

When and how do I get paid?

Once the client confirms the job is complete, funds are processed via Stripe and deposited directly into your bank account.

Note: In some cases, this can take a couple of days to process.


 

Can I set my own rates?

Yes! You have full control. You provide a custom quote for every job based on the client’s specific needs and your own expertise.


 

How do I receive job requests?

You’ll receive an instant email notification whenever a client messages you or requests a quote. You can also view all active leads in your dashboard.


 

Am I required to have my own insurance?

While not mandatory for all jobs, many clients prefer technicians who carry Public Liability or Professional Indemnity insurance. If you have coverage, be sure to highlight this on your profile.


 

What should I do if a client changes the job scope halfway through?

Communication is key. We recommend discussing the changes via the Tech Buddi chat and, if necessary, providing an updated quote before proceeding with the extra work.

Security Note: We use industry-standard encryption and our payment partner, Stripe, ensures your financial data is never stored on our servers.


 

What happens if a client refuses to pay?

Because clients accept your quote and "pre-authorise" payment through our platform, the funds are secured. If a dispute arises regarding the quality of work, Tech Buddi provides mediation to help reach a fair resolution.


 

How does the review system work?

After every job, clients can rate your service. High ratings improve your visibility on the platform and help you win more work.
